The WCRP had a General Meeting September 5th to continue its momentum towards the November general elections. The County Chair made the case that we republicans cannot just wait to vote in this coming election, but become activists now to get others to vote!
The WCRP participated in a border-wide "Texas Trump Train". The Laredo Trump Train Station met at Los Tres Laredos park on August 10th. The Trump Train caravan traveled to Zapata to meet up with other Trump Trains coming from the south east valley. Local, state and national Republican candidates and party leaders spoke at the Zapata rally. Among the speakers were Jay Furman (candidate for US Congress TX-28), George Rodriguez- El Conservador, Abraham George- Republican Party of Texas Chair, Michael Whatly- Republican National Committee Co-Chair.
Webb County Republican Party members participated in a Get-Out-the-Vote training given by the Leadership Institute on August 16 at the Embassy Suites.
The Webb County Republican Party had a General Meeting open to all members to announce and prepare for upcoming events and activities on Friday August 2nd at 6:30pm at the Jordan River Church at 2301 Sanders Ave. at the corner with Clark St.
We gathered for dinner with other Republican and conservative friends; listened to great speakers like Jay Furman (candidate for US Congress TX-28), George Rodriguez "El Conservador", and Pastor Rafael Cruz (Sen. Ted Cruz's father) at the Together Strong Fundraiser Dinner at the MonteCarlo Reception Hall. We had more than 300 people join us! Thank you! Let's make the next fundraiser even bigger!
New Webb Couinty Republican Party County Chair Jose Salazar took oath of office, as well as some new precinct chairs. The new leadership team of officers and committee chairs were also presented, as well as up coming projects like the fundraiser dinner July 11, and the Trump Train on Aug. 10.
Great representation by WCRP at the 2024 State Convention in San Antonio led by Chairman Luis De La Garza. Joining the group was the Gateway City Republican Women and our Chair-Elect Jose Salazar.
